We welcome you to the 84th year of programming for the country’s oldest local endocrinology association, the Philadelphia Endocrine Society. We’re excited to offer you another year of engaging, practice-changing lectures across a range of adult and pediatric endocrine
topics. We also will continue to identify ways to help our membership of trainees and providers which reaches across the tri-state area, including Philadelphia, South Jersey, and Delaware​.
 

Our 2026-2027 lecture series begins with our Annual Symposium which will focus on diabetes. The Symposium will occur on the morning of Saturday, October 3rd , 2026 at The Union League of Philadelphia. Our lecturers Sara Pinney, MD, Janice Hwang MD, and Carol Levy, MD will discuss atypical diabetes including MODY, the effect of diabetes on cognition, and diabetes in pregnancy, respectively. Our next lecture on Wednesday, November 18th, 2025, with Katie Guttenberg, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and endocrinology fellowship program director. Dr. Guttenberg will provide an update on Arginine Vasopressin Deficiency (AVP-D), formerly known as Diabetes Insipidus.
 
Additional lectures this season will address a wide range of topics, including osteoporosis vs. osteomalacia, thyroid cancer genetic and molecular markers, mild autonomous cortisol excess (MACE), androgen abuse, and AI in endocrinology. We will also host our second annual fellows career panel in March. Please visit our Programs page for the complete lecture schedule. We also want to take this opportunity to share the New Jersey Association of
Endocrinologists Thyroid Neck Ultrasound & FNA Practicum which will take place on September 26th at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott.  
 
As President of PES this year, I warmly invite you to join or renew your membership and take part in this vibrant and growing community. Membership includes access to all eight programs, cocktail receptions and dinner buffets, and the opportunity to connect with colleagues in a
collegial and informal setting. All events—except the October symposium and the May fellows’ program—will be held in person at Thomas Jefferson University, beginning with cocktails at 6:00 PM, dinner at 6:30PM, and the lecture at 7:00 PM. 
 
We’re looking forward to continuing community-building and collaboration between adult and pediatric endocrinology fellows. Look out for an upcoming start-of-year regional fellowship mixer and opportunities to connect across institutions. If you have ideas to further foster community and collaboration, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d love to hear them. Please also share this information with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, research personnel, and other colleagues who may be interested.
