Welcome 2023 - 2024

September 1st, 2023

Dear Colleagues,

Greetings! The Philadelphia Endocrine Society (PES) is the country's oldest local endocrinology organization; we are celebrating our 81st anniversary this year.

We are excited to offer another fascinating year of renowned and engaging speakers on a wide range of cutting-edge clinically relevant endocrine topics to adult and pediatric endocrinologists. Members from the tri-state area, including from Philadelphia, South Jersey, and Delaware, attend PES conferences.

As President of PES this year, I invite you to become a member. Membership includes eight programs, the cocktail reception and dinner buffet meal at each meeting, and a chance to interact with colleagues in an informal setting. The membership costs $100 for physician members, $200 for industry/pharmaceutical representatives, and $50 for ancillary clinical personnel. Fees are waived for fellows and residents in training.

For our first lecture on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, we are excited to welcome Bart Clarke, MD, Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Clarke's talk will focus on hypoparathyroidism. Our November symposium will concentrate on adrenal disorders, and we are excited to have an excellent line-up. Please see the entire lecture series on our website.

All programs will be held in person at Thomas Jefferson University except for the November symposium and May Fellow's programs, which will be held in person at
 The Union League of Philadelphia.

Please join us this year for all the programs. The programs begin at 6:00 P.M. with cocktails, then dinner at 6:30 P.M., followed by the lecture at 7:00 P.M.

Please support our programs with your membership. Please also share this information with your professional staff, including research personnel, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other interested colleagues, who are all welcome to join. Dues can be paid online or by checks, which should be made payable to "Philadelphia Endocrine Society." They can be delivered in person at the first lecture or mailed after submitting the online membership application.

Tax-deductible donations can also be made to the Philadelphia Endocrine Society; please visit the website for further details.

We look forward to meeting you at what promises to be another exciting year of highly educational and engaging endocrinology programs.

Sincerely,

Patrick Hanley, MD, MSHQS
Philadelphia Endocrine Society President
